Kidnapping in the First Degree is a Class A-I felony and carries a mandatory life sentence.

Client was convicted at trial of the lesser charge of Kidnapping in the Second Degree which carried a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of twenty five years. At sentencing, the judge sentenced the client to nine years of incarceration which was significantly less than the 18 years that the prosecution was offering if the client had pled guilty.
